The director of the Medresa “Mehmed Fatih”, Amer Šukurica, received representatives of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of the Republic of Türkiye – YTB, who visited the Medresa as part of their cooperation and their follow-up of programmes carried out in the Balkans.
The delegation included Adem Günaydın, representative for strategic development; Mehmet Kılıç, coordinator; and Osman Recep Nuriler, assistant coordinator.
The meeting covered the cooperation so far, especially the Balkan Youth School project, which has been successfully organised for seven years and brings together young people from across the Balkans.
Through this project, students have the opportunity to learn about the history, culture and traditions of the Republic of Türkiye, and, through educational programmes, meetings and excursions, to develop a broader understanding of shared cultural and civilisational ties.
The programme’s particular value lies in its educational trips, on which students get to know Türkiye first-hand — its landmarks, institutions, cultural heritage and social life.
In this way the project contributes to spreading knowledge, strengthening mutual understanding and building bridges of friendship among young people.
The director of the Medresa, Amer Šukurica, thanked the YTB representatives for their visit, their support and their continued contribution to educational and cultural projects of particular importance to the students of the Medresa “Mehmed Fatih”.
